An eerie, green sky at night has Taiwan’s residents spooked.
The otherworldly glow, seen from the Matsu islands, comes from a wave of Chinese boats where fishermen use green LED lights to attract squid near the unofficial buffer known as the median line between Taiwan and China. The unusual light show not only left many Taiwanese officials and residents uncomfortable, but they also claimed it threatens tourism and marine life, according to the Washington Post.
