Hurricane Fausto’s course is now expected to head straight for Hawaii in a rare weather event that may directly hit the islands.
Spaghetti models project that the storm will strike Maui, Molokaʻi, Lanaʻi and Oʻahu by next week.
Fausto has been building in strength in the eastern Pacific Ocean, with forecasters on Friday now predicting the Category 2 hurricane will pass just north of Hawaii’s Big Island as a tropical storm on Tuesday.
