Netflix has raised its monthly subscription price by $1 to $2 per month in the United States depending on the plan, the company said on Friday, to help pay for new programming to compete in the crowded online streaming market.
The standard plan, which allows for two simultaneous streams per account, now costs $15.49 per month, up from $13.99, in the United States.
Prices also went up in Canada, where the standard plan climbed to C$16.49 from C$14.99.
