Norfolk Southern incidents involving hazardous materials have rocketed nearly SIX-FOLD in 10 years

The number of Norfolk Southern hazmat train cars involved in accidents last year was six times higher than a decade earlier, official data reveals.

Some 654 of the company’s hazardous material-carrying cars were involved in accidents in 2022, compared with 105 in 2012, Federal Railroad Administration figures show.
