Power outages Monday are affecting tens of thousands of people in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The power outages, which are focused on St. Thomas and St. John, were caused by failures in power plant generators on the U.S. territory, but the cause of the failures in the generators is not clear, according to officials, The Associated Press reported.
The outage started before dawn on Monday and have continued into mid-afternoon. There are 54,000 residents between the two islands experiencing the outages.
