A U-Haul truck carrying about 600 pounds of chlorine powder caught fire in the parking lot of a Signal Hills Costco Friday, prompting an precautionary evacuation of the building.
Los Angeles County Fire Department units were dispatched about 1:55 p.m. to the 2200 block of East Willow Street.
Authorities evacuated the Costco in an abundance of caution and closed off the area.
