The United States Navy has brought a nuclear-powered guided-missile submarine into the South China Sea during a high-profile Philippines port call, raising the strategic temperature along one of the world’s busiest sea lanes.
Newsweek reports that USS Ohio, an Ohio-class SSGN capable of massed conventional strike, arrived pierside at Subic Bay, with Submarine Group Seven confirming a scheduled visit.
