6 injured when NYC crane collapses into building after catching fire near Manhattan’s Hudson Yards

Six people were injured, including two firefighters, when a construction crane carrying 16 tons of concrete collapsed into a neighboring building after catching fire in New York City on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The crane was operating on 550 10th Avenue — an under-construction, vacant building near Hudson Yards, between West 41st and West 42nd Streets — when the cabin area suddenly caught fire around 7:30 a.m., the NYPD said.
