Archaeologists stunned after finding ‘unexpected’ result from DNA tests on Tutankhamun

Though he ruled for less than ten years, Tutankhamun became Ancient Egypt’s most famous pharaoh.

The Boy King, as he was known, took the throne aged just eight or nine years old, and was helped by the courtiers who advised his father, Akhenaten.

They enacted a series of changes in Ancient Egyptian society, perhaps most importantly the reversal of Akhenaten’s decision to make the kingdom monotheistic for the first time in its history.
