LAPD detective charged for purchasing gun silencer from China

According to prosecutors, a Los Angeles Police Department [LAPD] detective has been charged with attempting to obtain a gun silencer that he allegedly purchased from China.

Luke Walden, 48, who posted bail after his arrest on Nov. 15, was charged with one felony count of attempted possession of a silencer.

In a press release on Wednesday, LA County District Attorney George Gascón stated that on April 22, 2021, U.S. Customs and Border Protection discovered a package coming from China that contained an illegal firearm silencer.
