A mysterious crater which is so deep you cannot see the bottom of it has has suddenly appeared on the Russia-Ukraine border.
The dramatic sinkhole, dubbed ‘a portal to the underworld’, was found in a cornfield between Russia and occupied Ukraine in Gukovo, Rostov region.
Although locals first suspected it was caused by a collapsed mine shat, the town’s administration said there were no working tunnels beneath the crater.
Footage shows the giant hole surrounded by hay, but it is too deep to see how deep it goes – and what it is at the bottom of it.
