PLAQUEMINE, La. (BRPROUD) — About 9:15 p.m. Friday, July 14, multiple explosions were reported at the Dow Chemical plant in Plaquemine, followed by a fire in the facility with no outside damage yet reported. On Saturday, July 15, the company said the incident was in the Glycol 2 Unit.
According to an update from Dow Louisiana Operations, the fire has been “substantially reduced,” and crews are working to get it fully put out.
