SolarDuck to build Japan’s first offshore floating solar demonstrator

Dutch-Norwegian company SolarDuck has been awarded a contract to build Japan’s first offshore floating solar power generator and automated sailing boat technology demonstrator together with local partners.

SolarDuck and its partners Tokyu Land Corporation and Everblue have been selected as part of the Tokyo Bay eSG Project, an advanced project led by the Bureau of Policy Planning of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. This project is aimed at realizing local production and consumption of energy in the Tokyo Bar Area through the implementation of cutting-edge, sustainable technologies.
