British holidaymakers who plan to fly to EU countries this year have been warned not to fall foul of the 10 year passport rule – or you could be turned away at the airport.
While the rule has been in force for some years that hasn’t stopped some tourists from being caught out when they go to fly. It’s all caused by a change in entry requirements after the UK left the EU via Brexit.
Essentially, as it now stands, British folks cannot enter an EU country on a passport that is more than 10 years old. Any passports issued post-Brexit will not have this issue as the documents are only made with 10 years maximum on the validity.
