American Airlines said on Saturday it has canceled more than 1,200 flights over the weekend due to staff shortages and unfavorable weather conditions.
The airlines said it has so far canceled 537 flights on Saturday and over 300 flights on Sunday, in addition to 376 flights canceled on Friday.
Southwest Airlines has canceled more than 170 flights over the weekend while some 2,000 flights experienced delays.
