A New Jersey hospital has become the first to mandate booster shots for workers who have had the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
About 270 employees at University Hospital in Newark – the only public acute care facility in the state – have until December 24 to get the booster or face being fired, the hospital’s CEO, Dr Shereef Elnahal said.
The hospital’s mandate comes on the heels of the CDC and FDA approvals of COVID-19 booster shots.
